Haley Surges Past DeSantis, Still Way Behind Trump in Iowa: Poll

Nikki Haley topped Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, R, in a new Iowa poll, but the pair of GOP hopefuls are still trailing Donald Trump by double digits in support in The Hawkeye State.

According to a Stuffolk University poll, 54% of likely Iowa caucus voters are backing Trump. Haley comes in second at 20%, while DeSantis rounds third with 13%.

The poll was conducted among 500 likely Iowa caucus voters from Jan. 6-10. It has a margin of error of 4.4%.

Trump, DeSantis, and Haley were the three candidates to qualify for Wednesday’s CNN primary debate. Only DeSantis and Haley attended, with Trump instead holding a town hall in Iowa over at Fox News.

Vivek Ramaswamy and Chris Christie did not qualify for the debate stage and scored in the single digits in the new survey. Ramaswamy came out at 6%, while Christie followed at 2%.

The number one second choice candidate for Trump supporters, according to the data, is DeSantis, with 26% saying they’d back the Florida governor.
